Designer Jean-Marie Massaud was born in Toulouse in 1966 and graduated from the National Higher School of Industrial Design in Paris in 1990. He initially worked in Asia and France, and in 1994 he founded his own studio in Paris. Since then, he has specialized in industrial and furniture design, establishing important relationships with brands such as Authentics, Baccarat and Magis. His works have won many awards, and many of his designs are still on display in major museums around the world today: they have become permanent collections of the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in Chicago, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris.

The Archibald series is Massaud's work and was launched in 2009. The original intention of designer Massaud was to create a very fashionable armchair that can be integrated into the modern lifestyle. Therefore, a new armchair product with a new definition of comfort was designed. Design inspiration: Pursuing the comfort of the armchair to suit any body shape and sitting posture, whether it is casual or formal; at the same time, making the armchair as elegant as high heels; and he hopes that the Archibald series will become a timeless work.
The common design features of the Archibald series: The wrap-around design creates a relaxing and cozy feeling; the inner leather of the seat back forms a unique folded wave shape, which is very visually beautiful; and the stitches interspersed in the seams and the surface of the seat cushion further demonstrate the meticulousness and elegance. The soft leather loose edges on both sides of the armrests form a pair of cute "ears" that are the finishing touch of the
