Replica Knoll Furniture Four Seasons Stool by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe

2018-05-31

Created for the Four Seasons Restaurant at the Seagram Building in New York, this Four Seasons Stool design is believed to be a collaborative effort between Mies van der Rohe, who designed the building, and Phillip Johnson, who designed the restaurant. In 2006 Knoll brought the design into mass production for the first time ever.

The cantilevered chrome frame, lean profile and meticulous craftsmanship complement van der Rohe`s Flat Bar Brno Chair, which was specified throughout the restaurant.

The stool`s cantilevered base recalls the lines of Mies` iconic Brno chair, appearing to defy the laws of gravity. The slim footprint and upholstered leather foam cushion – offering both practicality and comfort – are what further elevate his poetic expression to the status of classic. The Four Seasons Barstool features a chrome-plated solid steel frame and the seat can be upholstered in a wide range of leathers.

Designed for a restaurant, the Four Seasons Barstool is contract quality and is also suited to a variety of residential settings.
